Bartov, an Israeli-American scholar and Dean Professor of Holocaust Studies at Brown University, was of the first Holocaust scholars to name Israeli’s actions in Gaza a genocide. Bartov served in the Israeli Defense Forces in the 1970s and studied at Tel Aviv University and Oxford. He will speak, answer question and sign his new book, Israel: What Went Wrong? The book, as well as Palestinian Olive Oil, will be available for purchase.
Prior to the Bartov’s 6:30 talk, there will be a 5:30 pot luck in which Karishma Manzur, the peace candidate who captured a third of the vote in the Democratic primary for US Senate, will say a few words.
The Community Church of Durham — 17 Main St. — is hosting the event, which is cosponsored by NH PeaceAction Ed Fund, Palestinian Education Network, NHCCCC Peace with Justice Advocates, Veterans for Peace, Jewish Voice for Peace NH/VT and Krein & Stephen Barndollar. Admission is free. Donations are requested but not required at the door.
